Today, we’re shining the spotlight on Hannah, a 2020 graduate of the Z Hair Academy cosmetology school in Overland Park! After completing a full 1,500 hours of education at our award-winning cosmetology program, Hannah became a full-time stylist at Frankie’s Salon and Spa in Louisburg, where she was able to provide clients with everything from trendy cuts to breathtaking color transformations. Why did you choose to attend Z Hair Academy?

I chose the Z Hair Academy cosmetology school in Overland Park because the owner of the salon that I worked at occasionally taught at the academy and was able to help me get a scholarship. She talked so highly about it that I didn’t want to look anywhere else!
Where do you currently work?

I currently rent a suite at Victoria Rose Studios and own my own business—Beauty By Hannah Elise.
What advice would you give to a new student?

Make sure to look at lots of options when trying to find your first salon. Also, remember that continuing education is everything after you complete school!
How has Z Hair Academy helped further your career?

Z Hair Academy definitely taught me all of the fundamentals of the hair industry, and it was super easy for me to learn and grow after graduating and become an even better stylist and artist.
What do you do in your spare time?

I love spending time with my husband, friends, and family.
What is your favorite hair product?

I love the Surface Curls Finishing Spray. It’s the perfect lightweight but medium-hold hairspray, and it smells amazing!
What do you wish you knew when you were a student?

I wish I knew how many different opportunities there were in the beauty industry besides just hair.
