  What Are Monthly Career Days?

  Each month, Z Hair Academy hosts a Career Day for current students to connect with local salons throughout the Kansas City area. We have a variety of salons—both chains and locally owned businesses — that visit our campuses for Career Days, and we try our best to partner with salons in the vicinity of our respective campuses.

• 

  How Can Students Participate?

  All students are able to participate, as these Career Days are offered as a class in the cosmetology program. We give the salons about an hour to give a “sales pitch” for their salon, and they hand out flyers and business cards to direct our students on how to apply for future employment.

• 

  How Many Students Go On To Work at These Salons?

  Our job placement rate varies by campus, but all have a very high rate of placing students after graduation!

• 

  Why Would You Recommend Someone Attend?

  We encourage students to create their portfolio and resume while they’re in school and encourage them to shadow before graduating. This allows them to get a feel for the salon’s atmosphere and vibe so they know where they want to go before they ever graduate and have a leg up on the competition.

  How Do Career Days Set Z Hair Academy Students Apart?

  We offer these Career Days in a classroom setting rather than a fair format, which provides students more time with each salon and allows them to get to know the salon on a deeper level before applying. Because we do these monthly, the students have time to think about the different options and not become overwhelmed when evaluating their choices.
